trees were cut to accomodate cars. Cutting was

Without any warning to the neighborhood, the tree cutters hit again. April 2010 Previous Landscaping did not use any terracing to prevent erosion. Needed - some seat-height retaining walls. Trees are cut down, but Graffiti remains ... year after year .... Smart communities find - ways to intentionally use trees - to cool the earth, retain water, prevent erosion, provide a sound barrier and air filter, habitat for wildlife and a sense of connection to nature for humans. (read : Second Nature, from Los Angeles (Andy Lipkis and Tree People)) Georgia Forestry publication concerning the "Critical Root Zone" protection for trees: http://www.gatrees.org/Resources/documents/CommunityTreePlantingGuidelines032009.pdf We are hoping the good folks who enjoy this park will find a way to make it Green again: |
