re: our planned overview of Macon-Bibb this Friday.

Ben,
I have a question about BaySaver water quality devices - http://baysaver.com/index.html

Macon-Bibb County has permitted a number of these devices for stormwater control.  At a site visit on December 12, 2014 with  Keith Braswell, I found one of these devices was not being maintained, and it was filled with debris that would compromise its functioning.

The Macon-Bibb E&S person (Keith Braswell) has never responded to my question (see emails below)   --
"Does Macon require these Baysaver devices to be maintained?"

Thank-you,
- Lindsay

Keith,
I found the website for the BaySaver water quality devices like the two we looked at off Bass Road on Friday:
http://baysaver.com/index.html

The website has a demo-animation of working functions and maintenance procedures for the BaySeparator. From this information, it looks to me like the BaySeparator at the CVS is not being maintained. Does Macon-Bibb require businesses to keep a log of the maintenance of these sediment filters?
Thank-you,
- Lindsay

Dr. Holliday,

I’m glad you found our meeting beneficial. I will contact you concerning the site visit when I  learn when the new WQ unit will be installed at the Taco Bell project on Bass Road.

I visited the demolition site on Pine Street following our meeting. Dave Fortson and I spoke with Tom Buttram, director of Business and Development on Friday. Tom said he would call the developer. I expect to hear from him this week and will provide guidance as needed to stabilize this site.

Keith,
Thank you very much for the friendly and informative meeting today.
I look forward to meeting with you onsite on some Friday soon to view some water quality devices.

Going home this afternoon I drove by the (former) Tremont Temple site on Pine St.  I noticed that some mud has been tracked outside the land disturbing perimeter onto Cotton Ave.  I also noticed the temporary chain link perimeter fence partially blocks the sidewalk on Cotton Avenue and the fence completely blocks the sidewalk on Pine Street.  Is someone in Bibb Engineering monitoring this site?

Thanks again,
- Lindsay

Hi,
I attended your presentation last Saturday for the Ga Association of Conservation District Supervisors.
I am interested in any information about GaTech's efforts to daylight streams that were buried years ago on your campus.
Macon's campus of the Georgia Academy for the Blind is currently planning to bury a stream.
Please send me links to anything you may have already posted online.
Thank-you very much,
- Lindsay
