North-West Bibb neighbors silted in.

Photo of newly erected silt fencing.  Fencing has some gaps that will allow soil and water to bypass around the BMPs. This area had no BMPs until a month ago.  BMPs placed after numerous complaints to Macon-Bibb government officials by neighbors whose boat launches were silted in.

Doc, I apologize.  I sent the email to the wrong address apparently.  Below is some information and pics related to Pat Spencer’s complaint.  We are doing a site visit at 10:30 Monday morning.  Thanks

Mr. Pat Spencer 478-731-7483 called this morning to talk to someone about and erosion and sediment problem he is having on his property on Brown Cove in Bibb County. A neighbor has dug a pond and moved the dirt to a location on the creek that leads into a lake where his home is located. He has already had Keith Braswell and Dave Fortson from the Bibb County LIA come to do a site visit. He was told that they do not know if they can do anything about the problem. He said that they have the highest taxes in the area.  Mr. Spencer and the local neighbors are not happy about the information they received. He would like for us to come out and do a site visit to see if anything can do done to correct the problem.

The following is the information Mr. Spencer email me: Photos and parcels are in the drop box under SPENCER – Bibb County

(email from Pat Spencer)
Thank you for taking my call today.  I live in Browns Cove Subdivision on Lake Tobosofkee.  139 Myrick Drive, Macon, GA. 31220.

Since moving into our home in December 2015, we have had several torrential rains.
Dec 2015, May 2016, and since Dec 1, 2016 we have had over 12.5 inches.

The cove behind our home is fed by Bonner Creek.  Since Dec 2015, the build up in the cove has been as much as 3 feet.  This is sand and dirt.

I am a title abstractor and have identified three spots of where this problem comes from.

One is a 121 acre parcel on North Lizella Road.  Ga. Forestry is coming out tomorrow at 10 AM and we are going to look at this site, because it has tributaries running into Bonner Creek.

The other two parcels are:  DE890025400 , 276.92 acres owned by Charles Yarbrough.  This land contains 5 catfish ponds.  I spoke with Mr. Yarbrough on my fact finding mission and he identified that his ponds flooded during those rains.
There is sand also on his property.  You can identify in the pics from Bibb County Tax Assessor site.

The other parcel, and the main contributor of sand build up is DE890290111.  James E Yarbrough.  66.37 acres.  You will notice looking at this site where he dug a lake and then deposited all the dirt across the right of way near the banks of Bonner Creek.  This is the main source of the problem.

I am sending you several emails with pics.

If someone wants to come and get pics, let me know and I will be glad to go with them.

Again, thank you for your help.
