I interjected myself into a conversation you were having about who the current GDOT board member for the 8th district was at the time (Sydney Ross then, now Jim Cole). I told you that I worked for Congressman Marshall and you gave me your card and asked that I shoot you my contact information. I subsequently lost your card somehow and was unable to complete your request. I was able to attend Forest Hill/GDOT meeting on behalf of our office last Thursday. Sen. Brown mentioned it to our chief of staff in D.C. and he asked that I attend. To be honest, it was quite an eye opening experience. There really seems to be a monumental disconnect between Moreland and the GDOT, and separately, local leadership and the wishes of the Forest Hill community. I'm sure this has been offered before, but if there is anything our office can do, please don't hesitate to ask. Feel free to contact me anytime at the contact numbers below or via email. Thanks, and be sure to continue keeping us up to date on the status of the project. -Troy -- Troy C. I have placed hyperlinks to two of the Chellman documents on our meeting-review webpage here: http://www.macon-bibb.com/FHR/Meeting_20100617.htm Please be aware that Chellman's traffic projections are a bit high because Moreland-Altobelli (MAAI) gave him incorrect (inflated) data for 2007. It is my understanding that GDOT policy requires traffic projection models must "fit" the latest 5 years of historical traffic counts. Please note that the Moreland-Altobelli (MAAI) traffic projection model for Forest Hill Rd does not fit the past 5 years of historical traffic count data. Moreland's projections diverge widely (and wildly) from the latest 10 years of GDOT's own traffic counts. Therefore, would not GDOT policy require the incorrect Moreland projections to be removed from the Environmental Assessment (EA)? We have produced the newest traffic projections that fit GDOT policy on methodology. This document is webposted here: http://www.macon-bibb.com/FHR/FHR_Traffic-EA-Sholl_20100210.pdf We may have handed you a hard copy of this document at the meeting. Mr. Chellman did not address the Storm Water errors in the EA. One of the several hydrologic errors in the EA pertains to the perennial stream that flows under my driveway at 744 Forest Hill Rd. This stream is incorrectly categorized as an intermittent stream. Several hundred feet of this stream are projected to be heavily impacted by Moreland's designs. Thank-you again, - Lindsay D Holliday bcs to citizens |

Senator Robert Brown has been kind enough to arrange a meeting with GDOT officials this Thursday evening, June 17th at 6 pm, at St. Francis Church, 432 Forest Hill Road to hear residents and friends of FHR’s concerns about the destructive design proposed for Forest Hill Road. The meeting room is downstairs and can be accessed through the front door, or around back by following the entrance driveway. We would very much appreciate it if a few Bibb-Neighbors could attend and offer their support for a safer, more efficient, context sensitive and cheaper design. Our citywide neighborhood battles with bad government; including bad road design, wasteful government and poor P&Z decisions are similar and they seem to be never ending. Supporting each other’s efforts to improve our city can only offer greater rewards and a better quality of life. Please call if you would like more information. We have included a couple of links below that will offer you some background information on how hard the neighbors and friends of Forest Hill Rod have been working on this problem. Thank you so much for your consideration. - The Forest Hill Rd Neighborhood Mediation Team: - Carol Lystlund <clyst@att.net> 730 Forest Hill Rd.
